The N-Protocol is a new GALS (Globally Asynchronous, Locally Synchronous) paradigm based on the micropipeline concept and its associated control circuitry.

In this way, The N-protocol propose a system partition into autonomous processing blocks which rely on a 2-phase / bundled data parity-based handshaking protocol for communication and clock generation tasks. This new signaling protocol has smart real-time delay selection added functionality over previous ones.

In addition, the N-Protocol is one of the first logic implementation of a GALS approach targeted specifically to commercial FPGA architectures.
